Lift Chairs
A well utilized lift chair offers many different benefits to a patient and most often makes immediate impact in the patient’s daily life. The most significant benefit of a lift chair, the feature that qualifies it as a piece of medical equipment, is the lift mechanism that raises the patient directly to their feet. This prevents the patient from having to struggle to lift themselves out of the chair on their own. Another benefit of the chair is the patient’s ability to keep their legs elevated. Leg elevation is particular important for patients with any type of leg circulatory issue and helps prevent or remove swelling.
At any given time, Letourneau’s Pharmacy has anywhere between 12 and 18 lift chairs on the floor ready to be trialed. In addition to the chairs we have in stock, we are also able to order specialty models, fabrics, and colors. We typically recommend the patient visits the store along with family members or caretakers so they have the opportunity to sit in the chairs themselves. Every chair fits a person differently, so while a patient may size into a particular model that does not necessarily mean it will be a comfortable fit for them.
